Dr. Stephen Slade, M.D., based in Houston, Texas, is a leading expert in presbyopia correction, cataract surgery, LASIK, and implantable contact lenses. 

With prestigious degrees from Tulane University and the University of Texas Medical School, graduating summa cum laude, his education included an elective year at Guy’s Hospital, London. Dr. Slade's extensive training encompasses a residency at LSU Eye Center and fellowships in corneal surgery at both Baylor College of Medicine and in New York. 

A pioneering figure, he performed the first LASIK surgeries in the U.S. and remains at the forefront with the longest experience in Laser Cataract Surgery and laser LASIK in the nation. As a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Slade has significantly contributed to the field as a teacher, having educated over 8,000 surgeons in advanced surgical techniques. 

His innovative work has earned him numerous awards, including the prestigious Barraquer Award from the largest society of refractive surgeons, recognizing him as a global leader. Dr. Slade's expertise is also sought after by peers, with over 450 eye surgeons choosing him for their procedures. 

His roles include President of ACOS and chairman of AECOS, showcasing his leadership in advancing ophthalmic surgery. Dr. Slade's commitment to innovation, education, and patient care makes him a recognized figure in ophthalmology worldwide.
